[CIVIL WAR]. Quarter plate tintype of a Connecticut infantryman.
Quarter plate tintype. (Image bright, some tarnish to perimeter, few minor horizontal creases to plate.) Housed in full pressed paper case (reinforced at hinge). Seated portrait of a young infantryman with his broad-brimmed hat placed on the small table to his right, the hat chords and table cloth hand-tinted. Verso with four 5-cent internal revenue stamps dated 1864. Provenance: Old Connecticut Collection (consignor description).
