[NATIVE AMERICANS] -- [LENNY & SAWYERS, photographers]. A group of 12 photographs of Prairie Indians from Indian Territory. Ca late 1880s-1890s.
5 x 7 1/2 in., or smaller, photographs, including a boudoir card with imprint of Lenny and Sawyers and 11 unmounted prints, all likely by Lenny and Sawyers.
A fine array of portraits of Otoe, Delaware, and Caddo men and women, garbed in traditional clothing, and 2 rare photographs of Wichita traditional grass lodges. Sitters include "Parthayne" (Otoe). -- "Jim Bob" (Delaware). -- "Faw-Faw" (Otoe). -- "White Horse" (Otoe). -- "Enoch" (Delaware). -- "Oper-Nom-Nina" (Otoe). -- "Granny Houston" (Wichita).
Together, 12 photographs, most in good condition with some toning. Unmounted prints with corner and edge wear including some chipping. Eleven include Forrest Fenn's stamp on verso, and several with penciled notes.
