Lot Description
[WESTERN AMERICANA]. WEITFLE, Charles, photographer. A group of 6 stereoviews of Colorado towns, incl. Black Hawk and Leadville.
6 1/4 x 3 3/4 in., or smaller, stereoviews on cardstock mounts (toning, some soiling to images; soiling and spotting to mounts, corner and edge wear). Each stereoview is titled in the negative, and five include Charles Weitfle's Central City, CO, imprint on verso.
Some of the views may have been originally produced by James Thurlow, Manitou, Colorado's first resident photographer. When he died of pneumonia, Charles Weitfle purchased Thurlow's 250 negatives.
