Document appointing Hubbard H. Hobbs to lieutenant of the Navy. Signed by President Monroe and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy Samuel L. Southard (1787-1842). Docketing to lower left.
Navy registered note Hobbs' first warrant on 4 March 1815 on the Frigate Constellation, assigned to the Schooner Porpoise in 1822, as a part of the West India Squadron in 1825, and on the Frigate Guerriere in 1829.
