Pencil inscription to frame verso dates the image to 11 December 1861 and the male figure as E.W. Hurt of Dubuque, Iowa.

Identified as Manuel Smith Drummond Lucinda Curtis Chamberlain and their children Franklin, Emma, and Henry of Georgetown, ME.
