A Chinese Export Gilt Decorated Black Glazed Porcelain Figure of Fu Lion

19th Century

the beast figure depicted recumbent with all four tucked, its head turned to the left and slightly raised, the mouth wide open revealing teeth. the rounded eyes between enlarge nostrils and bushy eyebrows, the neck and and the body covered in curled mane, the bi-furcated tail flicked to the side, detailes highlighted in gilt.

Length 8 1/2 in., 21.5 cm.

Condition Report

In overall good stable and attractive condition, with some minute regions with chipping to the glaze at the tail and forepaws, flake or loss at the underside, and rubbing to the gilding.
