Two Cut Paper Silhouettes with Dogs
Mid 19th Century
dog and master silhouette signed illegibly and dated 1847 to lower edge beneath right shoe.
dog silhouette signed illegibly and dated 1838 to verso.
8 3/8 x 5 3/8 inches (larger).
3 x 4 inches (smaller).

Condition Report
Framed: 11 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches (larger).
Larger frame is sealed with old adhesive or other resinous substance; paper not examined outside frame. Several tears visible to lower fourth of ground, with additional tearing to left edge. Slight warping to ground, with scattered foxing throughout and light staining along entirety of right edge. Smaller with foxing throughout ground and areas of light staining surrounding dog's feet, tail, and lower back.
