Condition Report
In overall fine condition. Retains traces of a dark, historic surface, with remnants of a red paint showing through (brighter in recesses in few areas). Old scuffs, marks, and scratches consistent with age and use. The cane seat is intact, but likely later repaired. There is an old, repaired chip to one of the front legs at the junction with the lower stretcher, likely from construction. One of the rear splats shows an old age crack, but appears to still be in usable condition. Few other age splits, none that cause any concern for structural integrity. There is a screw to the rear of each of the rear stiles at the junction with the bottom rail of the back, likely replacing old pegs.
