4pp travel letter from a woman describing her journey during which her steamer Mary Jane became unable to travel due to the shallow water, necessitating that she disembark to continue the journey, followed by an unpleasant hotel stay. 1857. -- Letter dated 16 January 1867 addressed to a sugar buyer in Shreveport, LA, discussing shipping of sugar, spices, cheese, and more. -- Early letter post-marked Cincinnati lettersheet folded and sent to the Mayor of the City of New Orleans, 1828.
[With:] A group of 2 Owego and Ithaca Turnpike Company stock certificates, both signed by Lewis Beers, President, in 1810.
[With:] Partly printed freight bill for the steamboat John B. Maude. 1873. -- Partly printed manifest for goods shipped on the steamship Galena from New York to New Orleans. 1857. -- 47 Bills of Lading issued by Barker & McDaniel of McConnelsville, Ohio, "Dealers in Merchandise, Wool, Provisions, Grain, Seeds, Dried Fruit, Sorghum, &c." ca 1867-1868.
[Also with:] A small assortment of ephemera featuring attractive lithographs or other illustrations of modes of transport such as railroads, steamships, and paddlewheelers.
