Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Union State Ticket. [California], [1863]. [With:] Union Republican California ballots.
3 x 7 7/8 in. (toning, approx. 1 1/2 in. tear to right edge extending diagonally inward, minor wear to upper left edge and corner). Individual offices and candidates listed include "For Governor, Frederick F. Low," "For Lieutenant Governor, T.N. Machin," "For Attorney General, John G. McCullough," and others. The "Legislative Ticket" makes up the lower third, listing candidates for Senate and Assembly. Ticket verso bears patriotic illustration including portraits of Lincoln and Jackson, with bold red letters reading, "Regular Union Ticket" at center.
[With:] Union Republican State Ticket. [California]: H.S. Crocker & Co.'s Chromatic Press, [1871]. 2 3/4 x 12 1/4 in. (creased along horizontal folds, upper corners creased, light soiling). Upper portion of ticket features an illustration of Newton Booth, with state, congressional, and county ticket candidates listed in red, blue, and black text below. -- Fourth Ward for Delegates to the Union Republican State Convention. [San Francisco]: Taylor & Co., Printers, [1869]. 3 3/4 x 8 in. (creasing and some loss to edges and corners, toning). Upper portion of ticket features eagle on shield illustration. Delegates listed include John Stratman, D.F. Verdenal, M.R. Roberts, and John Hancock. -- Together, 2 California Union Republican tickets.
