Lot Description
[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865)]. Lincoln relics incl. hair, wood fragment, and fabric remnant.

11 x 14 in. display containing: 2 strands of hair attributed as Abraham Lincoln's, approx. 3/8 in. long [left]. -- 1/2 x 7/8 in. wall lathe wood taken during the remodeling in the 20th century of the building used by Abraham Lincoln and William H. Herndon while practicing law at 6th and Adams Streets in Springfield, IL [right]. With copy of image Lincoln, copy of image of the building, and typed descriptive label furnished by Carroll J. Delery III. Accompanied by a photocopy of what is believed to be the original Christie's sales description for the lot from which the strands of Lincoln hair offered here derived. 

[With:] Two larger fragments of wood, 6 1/2 x 1 1/4 in. or smaller, housed in box with modern typed label furnished by Carroll J. Dellery III identifying the wood as coming from Lincoln's Springfield office. --  1 1/2 x 2 1/4 in. piece of fabric housed in plastic bag labeled "Lincoln Drape" presumably in the hand of Carroll J. Dellery, stored in box with modern typed label furnished by Carroll J. Dellery III identifying the item as "Fabric House at Springfield." No further documentation or certificate of authenticity accompanies the lot.
