[LINCOLNIANA]. A group of engraved CDVs featuring Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and families.
A from-life photographic CDV of Mrs. Julia Grant, the wife of Ulysses S. Grant. New York, NY: E. & H.T. Anthony, n.d. Verso with Anthony's imprint (Brady negative credit), 2-cent revenue stamp, various modern pencil notations, and "Henry Y. Porter" handstamp. -- Composite CDV featuring engravings of President Lincoln, Generals Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan, and Admirals David Porter, and David Farragut, with text in circle reading, "Peace Commissioners." N.p.: n.p., ca 1860s. -- CDV engraved image of Lincoln's funeral car. Washington, DC: Chase & Hatch, 1865. 2-cent revenue stamp on verso, along with printed caption, copyright information, various pencil inscriptions, and "Henry Y. Porter" handstamp. -- Composite CDV featuring engravings of Washington and Lincoln amidst clouds and patriotic symbolism, each identified "The Father," and "The Preserver," respectively. New York, NY: C. Harris, 1865. 2-cent revenue stamp on verso. -- CDV engraved image of Lincoln's death bed. N.p.: n.p., ca 1865. -- And 13 others, including 7 engraved portraits featuring Lincoln (2 with additional subjects), 2 engraved portraits of Mary Todd Lincoln, and 4 engraved portraits featuring Ulysses S. Grant (3 with additional subjects). -- Together, 18 images, each approx. 2 1/8 x 3 1/2 in., or larger, on cardstock mounts (3 are CDV-sized engravings printed directly to cardstock mounts). Conditions vary, with issues including spotting, pinholes, clipping, toning, and wear to edges and corners.
