Lot Description
Chanel Flap, c.1983

After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.

Black leather flap bag with scalloped top stitching detail, black corded trim and red leather lining, dual black leather handles woven through gold-tone chain, one main compartment with zippered pocket and two patch pockets, and front gold-tone "CC" clasp closure. Double "CC" turnlock is gold plated.
