A Japanese Lac-Burgauté 'Butterfly' Snuff Bottle
1854-1930, probably Tsuda Sokan, 1868-1934
the bottle is in the shape of a butterfly and is decorated in shell and silver and gold foil on each side on a black lacquer ground, with a glass stopper.
Height of bottle 2 1/4 x width 3 in., 5.7 x 7.62 cm.
