1 page, 4to, on a bifolium, addressed on an integral leaf, some staining and browning, a few tiny wormholes.
Walter Livingston, was the great-grandson of New York colonial official, fur trader, and businessman Robert Livingston the Elder, who was granted a patent in 1686 to 160,000 acres along the Hudson River, establishing Livingston Manor. Walter Livingston was a delegate to the Provincial Convention held in New York in 1775, and was a member of the First New York Provincial Congress. He was a member from New York of the Continental Congress in 1784 and 1785, and was appointed Commissioner of the United States Treasury in 1785. He writes, in part: "By yesterday's mail I received a letter from my son Schuyler acquitting me to inform you that he expected to sale by the 12th." He continues: "The lot I purchased...is marked in our list disputed. It is No. 3 in Lysander containing 500 acres."
