Lot Description
ROOSEVELT, Theodore III (1887-1944). Typed letter signed ("Theodore Roosevelt"). New York, NY, 21 February 1927.
One page, 7 1/4 x 10 1/2 in., creased at folds with some additional creasing, else good. On "Theodore Roosevelt, Oyster Bay, Long Island" letterhead.
In this letter to a "Miss Leonore E. Gardner," Roosevelt III writes, in full: "Mr. Fred Lewis tells me you are collecting autographs. I am very glad to write you this letter for your collection. He also tells me that you are fifteen. I have a daughter who is fifteen too. Her birthday is in August. She makes me feel very old, because she is now taller than her mother."
[With:] 2 pages, 4 11/16 x 6 7/16 in., printed partial invitation to the Fourth Annual Meeting and Banquet of what could be the Union College Alumni Association (significant separation and loss, with adhesive repair). "Theodore Roosevelt" written in ink on first page. Event is scheduled for 10 December 1891 at the Hotel Brunswick in New York.
