Lot Description
ROCKEFELLER, John D. (1839-1937). A group of 2 Typed Letters Signed ("John D. Rockefeller"). Pocantico Hills, New York.
5 April 1910, on Pocantico Hills, New York letterhead. Written to Mrs. L. E. Fordham of Owego, NY. In full: "My daughter, Mrs. McCormick of Chicago, has handed me the letter you so kindly sent her, written to your father by my grandmother, Mrs. Lucy Rockefeller, some sixty or seventy years ago. I thank you for this letter. I shall greatly prize it." -- 14 July 1924, on John D. Rockefeller, Kijkuit, Pocantico Hills, New York letterhead. Written to Dr. John F. Stephan of Cleveland, OH. In full: "We gratefully acknowledge the photographs of the bust which you took with such acceptance. Please be assured of our appreciation." -- Each one page, on bifolium, 5 3/4 x 7 1/2 in., creased at folds, with light spotting/staining.
