Lot Description
FULLER, R. Buckminster (1895-1983). A collection of 6 Dymaxion map posters, one SIGNED by Fuller and one with notations in his hand. 

6 posters illustrating the Dymaxion map, or Fuller map, which is a projection of a world map onto the surface of an icosahedron that can be unfolded and flattened to two dimensions. One example, measuring 35 x 13 1/2 in., is signed at lower right by Richard Buckminster Fuller ("R. Buckminster Fuller") and numbered 1/85. A second poster, copyrighted 1979, and measuring 35 x 23 in., includes inked and penciled notations believed to be in Fuller's hand. The remaining posters measure approx. 35 x 23 in., or smaller. -- Also included is a commemorative Buckminster Fuller calendar dated 1995. 

Together, 6 posters. Condition generally very good, with some wear to edges, including light creasing. 

Richard Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was an American architect, systems theorist, designer, inventor, author, and futurist, publishing more than thirty books in his lifetime. He developed several inventions, mainly architectural designs, and popularized the widely known geodesic dome. Fuller also served as the second World President of Mensa International from 1974 to 1983.
