Lot Description
[DAKOTA TERRITORY]. Council Journal of the Second Session of the Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Dakota. Yankton, Dakota Territory: Kingsbury & Ziebach, 1862-3.
8vo. (Some dampstaining to upper corners.) Modern cloth.
RARE JOURNAL OF LAWS PASSED IN THE SECOND YEAR AS A TERRITORY. Session laws of the Territory of Dakota were published after each regular and special legislative session and contain the laws enacted during that session. The present example includes a list of members and officers of the Council of the Second Legislature of the Territory of Dakota, a Council Journal, and a General Index. The Dakota Territory was created by an act of Congress on March 2, 1861. The Dakota Territory was not directly involved in the American Civil War, but did raise troops to defend settlements following the Dakota War of 1862. VERY RARE: OCLC locates only 1 copy of this journal, held by the American Antiquarian Society.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.

Condition Report
The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to
age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and
restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition
they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make
no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind

staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the
Department prior to bidding.
The absence of a posted condition report on the Hindman website or
in our catalogues should not be interpreted as commentary on an

inspecting a lot or sending their agent or conservator to inspect
the lot on their behalf, and for ensuring that they have
requested, received and understood any condition report provided
by Hindman.
