Tremendous Excitement! Samuel Whittaker and Robert McKenzie Rescued from the Authorities, and Hung by the Vigilance Committee, on Sunday August 24th at 3 O'Clock P.M. in the Presence of Fifteen Thousand People. 10 1/4 x 8 1/4 in. (sight) lithographed lettersheet, matted and framed, 13 3/4 x 11 1/2 in. (toning, light surface soiling, unexamined outside frame). A large crowd is shown in the foreground, looking toward the bodies of Samuel Wittaker and Robert McKenzie, which hang from the rafters of local businesss in the background.
