Lot Description
[WILD WEST SHOWS]. PIROU, Eugen, photographer. Signed and inscribed cabinet card of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Paris, 1889.
4 x 5 5/8 in. cabinet photograph on cardstock mount (print toned, with some fading, scattered spotting, some surface residue; corner and edge wear to mount). A studio portrait showing Cody in costume, with lariat and rifle resting on his saddle, inscribed and signed along top edge of photograph, "Yours truly / W.F. Cody / Buffalo Bill / Paris / 1889" (some wear to ink).
A rare cabinet card autographed by Cody during the 1889 season in Paris, one of many stops his Wild West show made while in Europe.
