[CIVIL WAR]. [SMITH, William Morris, photographer]. Large format photograph of officers of Companies F and K, 3rd Regiment Massachusetts Artillery, at Fort Stevens. Washington, DC, August 1865.
9 3/8 x 7 1/2 in. albumen photograph on 14 x 11 in. cardstock mount (toning and some light surface wear to print; mount with tackholes, staining, surface wear, some rippling, corner and edge wear including some tears and loss). Mount with period, manuscript identification in lower margin, "Officers of 3d Massachusetts Artillery, Fort Stevens, August, 1865." Although lacking a studio imprint, the photograph is attributed to William Morris Smith. Provenance: Collection of W.J. Kaland (ink stamp on verso).
