[CIVIL WAR]. 10 CDVs of Union and Confederate generals, many from the Western Theater.
The lot is comprised of CDVs of the following Union generals:
Ulysses S. Grant. Uncredited, after lithograph/engraving (occasional spotting, edge and corner wear to mount). -- James B. McPherson, KIA Battle of Atlanta 7/22/1864. 2 CDVs, the first, New York, NY: E. & H.T. Anthony, appears to be after lithograph/engraving. Second, an uncredited oval portrait of a confident looking McPherson (some fading and toning to print; some soiling to mount). -- Henry Halleck. 2 CDVs, the first, an uncredited seated view. Second, a standing view, New York, NY: E. & H.T. Anthony, appears to be after lithograph/engraving (toning and some soiling). -- Nathaniel P. Banks. 2 CDVs, the first, New York, NY: New York Photographic Co., possibly after lithograph/engraving (some fading to print, occasional spotting). Second, shoulder-length portrait, New York, NY: D. Appleton & Co., after lithograph/engraving (soiling/diagonal marks to print; edge and corner wear to mount, including few chips). -- James Negley. Louisville, KY: Webster & Co., possibly after lithograph/engraving (few small surface nicks to print and mount).
[With:] P.G.T. Beauregard, Confederate general. 2 CDVs, the first, a full standing portrait in Federal uniform, Boston, MA: Silsbee, Case & Co. (light edge and corner wear to mount). Second, a bust-length view of Beauregard in Federal uniform after lithograph/engraving, uncredited, with "General Beauregard" printed on verso (light soiling).
