19 cabinet photographs, 4 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, on cardstock mounts (light to heavy toning, some soiling and scattered spotting; edge and corner wear to mounts, including some with chipping and loss). Highlights include:
9 cabinet cards of players wearing "Cleveland" uniforms, 2 of which are credited to John H. Ryder, Cleveland, OH, 7 of which are credited to Pifer & Becker, Cleveland, OH. Subjects tentatively identified on accompanying notecards include: J.K. Virtue, T.C. Williams, John Clarkson, Jerry McAllen (?), and C.M. Hastings. An additional cabinet card credited to Pifer & Becker, Cleveland, OH, shows a young man in a suit identified on verso as "Geo. Cuppy."
[With:] 6 cabinet cards credited to Carl J. Horner, Boston, MA, most showing baseball players wearing "Boston" uniforms. The players are tentatively identified as participants in the 1903 World Series, which was between the Boston Americans and Pittsburgh Pirates. Subjects tentatively identified on accompanying notecards include: Possibly Jimmy Collins, third baseman and manager, Huges (?) not dressed in uniform, "Parent," "Gibson," and "C. Stahl." -- 2 cabinet photographs of Mike (King) Kelly (as identified on accompanying note cards), one credited to Wright Studio, Boston, MA (fading and some soiling to print), one credited to P.H. Rose, Providence, RI. -- Oval length photograph, 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 in., on cardstock mount with credit to Holsinger, Charlottesville, VA, of a baseball player with a ball in one hand and glove in the other, tentatively identified on accompanying notecard as "Cruger-Lou"(?) (chip to lower left corner of mount).
