MORALES, Italo Hidalgo (b. 1939). U Cayibal Atziak. Antigua: Libros San Cristobal, 1992.  4to. Quarter calf with handwoven Guatemalan cloth; full leather slipcase (light rubbing). LIMITED EDITION, number 81 of 200 copies with binding executed by Laura Rosales Garcia and Guatemalan cloth handwoven by Maria Hernandez de Lopez, Elva Marina Lopez, and Aldea Santiago Zamora. 
 
MONTGOMERY, George Washington (1804-1841). Narrative of a Journey to Guatemala, in Central America, in 1836. New York: Wiley & Putnam, 1839. 8vo. (Minor toning at page edges.) Original navy cloth with gilt spine titles (minor staining). FIRST EDITION of the diplomat's visit to Guatemala while he was the U.S. consul in San Juan de Puerto Rico. Sabin 50139. 
 
[With:] [NILES, John Milton (1787-1856)]. A View of South-America and Mexico. New York: H. Huntington, Jr., 1825. 8vo. Engraved fronitspiece portrait of Simon Bolivar. (Minor toning, occasional spotting, lacking title for vol. II, see below.) Contemporary calf, smooth spine gilt (wear at extremities, spine cracked, hinges reinforced). Provenance: C. B. Sanders, Houston, TX (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, Two volumes in one. No title page present for volume 2, however, after page [224] of vol. I, pagination restarts with "Colombia Chapter 1."

COLOP, Luis Enrique Sam (1955-2011). Popol Wuj. Guatemala City: Cholsamaj, 2008. 4to. Publisher's printed wraps; later slipcase. INSCRIBED BY LUIS ENRIQUE SAM COLOP. The Popol Wuj is an ancient text recounting the history and myths of the Ki'che' people. It passed through the centuries as oral tradition until the 16th century, when it was first recorded in writing; it was later translated into Spanish by the Dominican friar Francisco Ximenez.
