Known as the "father of baseball umpires," Bill Klem served as a National League umpire from 1904 to 1941, during which time he worked a record 18 World Series, was an umpire for the first All-Star Game in 1933, and holds the record for most ejections with a career total of 251. He was also the first umpire inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Baseball inscribed "W.J. Klem" in black fountaIn pen on side panel. PSA review states removal of additional signatures/inscriptions on baseball is apparent.
NOTE: If a bid is placed within one minute of the closing time of a lot, five additional minutes will be added to the designated closing time for that lot. This process will repeat until no new bids are placed in the final minute of a lot. Please note that the extension of one lot’s closing time does not affect other lots’ closing times. A detailed explanation of the Timed auction format can be found here.
