Lot Description
An Unopened Box of 1986-87 Fleer Basketball Cards (36 Packs) Featuring All Original Wax Packs As Issued By Fleer With One Michael Jordan Rookie Card No. 57 Showing On Top of Pack and Four Jordan Stickers (BBCE Authenticated)
The grail amongst grails.
Presented is an unopened box of 1986-87 Fleer Basketball Cards that is one of the finest examples of this storied issue to ever come to market. It has remained untouched since its original factory issue over three decades ago. Remarkably preserved in the box of 36 packs is one exceptional pack featuring the most important basketball card in the hobby – card No. 57 featuring Michael Jordan in an iconic moment soaring to the basket, arm extended for a beautiful slam dunk.
Authenticated and reviewed by Baseball Card Exchange, the leading authority in the authentication of unopened sports card material. This lot features a letter of authentication as follows:
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is being written for the 1986/87 Fleer basketball wax box thatis labeled #X1298.
It is in my best opinion that this wax box is in its original form as issued by Fleer. All the packs have similiar wrapper centering and colors. The packs themselves are all clean and mostly NM-MT.
In addition, the collation of stickers is proper for a Fleer issued box. There are 3 stickers showing of each player and a 4th sticker showing for 3 additional players. The additional players with a 4th sticker are: Jordan, Olajuwon and Thomas. There is also 1 pack with a #57 Michael Jordan RC showing on top of the pack.
Sincerely Yours,
Steve Hart
