Lot Description
A Russian Gilt Bronze Figural Clock
Samuel Wehl, St. Petersburg, Circa 1840
the movement stamped 22 518, bearing Lons / Brevete seal, the case stamped S. Wehl / St. Petersburg to the back. 
Height 16 x width 11 1/2 inches.
This lot is located in Chicago.
Condition Report
Height without base 15 inches. Weight of clock approximately 30 pounds.
The base likely originally had a glass dome that fit over clock, dome no longer present. Clock case appears in overall good, stable condition. The gilt decoration bright with some minor dirt and dust to recesses. The dial with a few tight age cracks emanating from winding apertures with a few chips around aperture from key strike. Clock is lacking pendulum so unable to test if running, Clock appears to take a wind with key and does strike on the half and full hour. Additional images available upon request.
