A Pair of Terracotta Portrait Busts of Charles Philippe and Madame Clotilde

After Models by Fernand Cian, Late 19th/20th Century

both on marble socle bases, signed 'Fernand Cian / Paris 1776' to the proper-left shoulder and respectively incised 'Comte d'Artois' and 'Comtesse d'Artois' to the base of the busts.
Height of taller (Comtesse) 13 3/4 x width 7 1/4 inches.

Note:
Charles-Philippe de France, comte d'Artois and the later Charles X (1757-1836), and his sister Clotide, comtesse d'Artois (1757-1836), were the grandchildren of Louis XV.
