A Chinese Export Trapunto and Painted Silk Embroidery Panel

with Chinese characters inscribed to frame verso.

Condition Report
Framed: 19 3/4 x 25 5/8 inches.
Significant staining to silk ground, most notably throughout sky. Overall embrittlement to ground, with scattered vertical tears throughout. Losses to petals of flowers at left, and possibly to entire flowers at lower right and leaves of tree. Fan at right with detached stem. Degradation to silk fibers of garden stool, resulting in exposure of batting. Loose nail gun nails from previous reframing visible within the composition. The work was not fully removed from the frame for inspection of backing and ground out of concern for stability of the work.
