Lt. Col. James V. Hunt was an ex-Army official and Wartime Assets Administration official who, in 1949, was one of the first government officials exposed for peddling influence in the halls of Congress. According to a Time Magazine article published at the time Hunt's office was decorated with signed photographs of prominent politicians and military officials, which he showed off to potential government contractors as a way of gaining their confidence and thus their business.
