Contains 44 CDVs or CDV-sized tintypes of men, women, and children, mostly civilians, with the exception of 2 portraits of Civil War soldiers (very good overall). The album features 2 portraits of men in Civil War uniform, incl. Corodon Mason, shown seated in a studio. Morris Island, SC: H.C. Foster (mount and top/bottom edges of print trimmed). Mason enlisted as an Assistant Surgeon in March of 1864 and was commissioned into Field & Staff of the US Colored Troops, 32nd Infantry. He mustered out in August of 1865. -- Standing view of soldier with hat in hand. Clinton, IA: T. Tuttle (mount and top/bottom edges of print trimmed). -- Additional images of members of the Mason family are represented, as well as possible relatives and friends. Studio imprints from Iowa, New York, and Ohio are included in the album. 

Together, 44 CDVs housed in a Civil War-period album. Condition of cartes de visite generally good, with many mounts trimmed.
