"Currahee" scrapbook of the 101st Airborne's famed 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Original, German-printed 1945 edition of the rare scrapbook as issued by the 506th P.I.R. Approx. 200 unnumbered, heavily-illustrated pages describing the heroic exploits of the regiment, from 20 July 20 1942 to 4 July 1945, including D-Day and Operation Market Garden. 14 3/4 x 10 in. (dust jacket with light soil and small loss, minor dampstaining, weakness and minor separation at spine, pages generally clean and in good condition). Includes seven pages of maps showing the regiment's engagements during the Battle of the Bulge. A scarce original photographic and textual history from one of the most famous units in World War II history.
[With:] "The Epic of the 101st Airborne: A pictorial biography of the United States 101st Airborne Division, compiled and arranged by the unit Public Relations Office, Auxerre, France, 1945." Original edition with an introduction by S.L.A. Marshall, Colonel, GSC, Historian of ETO. Cardboard cover and backing with metal spiral binding. 144pp, 15 3/4 x 10 1/2 in. (wear to cover but remains solidly attached, light soil and wear throughout, pages generally clean). Featuring photos, illustrations, and reminiscences of the "Screaming Eagle" division.
