Docketed on verso.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania land grant awarding Henry Werth three hundred acres "On Wills mountain West from the Town of Bedford to include a piece of Chestnut Timber in Bedford Township" in the county of Bedford.

[With:] Engraving of Thomas Mifflin "by E. Wellmore from a painting by G. Stuart in possession of G.M. Dallas, Esq." above printed signature, 5 1/4 x 8 1/2 in. (scattered spotting).

Thomas Mifflin was a Founding Father and signer of the US Constitution. He also served as an aide to General George Washington and as the army Quartermaster General during the Revolutionary War, was a representative to the First Continental Congress, and was the first Governor of Pennsylvania from 1790-1799.
