Approx. 4 x 6 in. printed photograph of 2 Native American subjects. One stands as the subject of a photograph, the other stands behind a camera, under the cloth as if taking the other's portrait. A tent is visible in the background. (Toning, some ripping/wear to edges, creasing/cracks to surface.) -- 13 1/4 x 10 1/2 in. (including margins) silver gelatin photograph of a Sioux subject wearing a headdress, with 3 horses to the left. (Toning, creasing and tearing to margins.) Margin blindstamped with copyright for The Publishers Photo Service, Inc. , Stamford, CT and New York, NY. Verso bears penciled caption and date, "The Sioux Brave and his ponies, Black Hills 1925." -- RINEHART, F.A. (1861-1928), photographer. 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 in. platinum print, matted to 11 x 14 in., featuring Tonkawa Chief Grant Richards. Omaha, 1898. (Loss to upper corner, few surface abrasions to image, soiling to margins, attached to mat with 2 strips of adhesive tape.) Copyrighted, captioned, and numbered in the negative. -- 8 x 10 in. printed photograph featuring 2 young Navajo girls, one riding a burro, on a reservation. (Toning, overexposure.) Ca 1911. Modern printed collection label on verso describes photograph. -- 8 x 4 1/2 in. (visible) silver gelatin print, framed to approx. 9 3/4 x 6 1/8 in., featuring a large group of Native American subjects arranged in 2 rows, many with drums, some wearing feathered headdresses or bison headdresses. It appears that the group has been "dressed up" to look "traditional" for the event or photograph. Captioned in the negative, "Our Indian Silversmiths." -- And 24 other photographs or photographic images, mostly featuring Native American subjects. Ranging in size from 19 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. to 4 x 3 1/4 in. Subjects include a Blackfoot village in Montana, Navajo people and artworks, and many more.
