Condition Report
Framed: 27 1/2 x 23 1/4 inches.
Each canvas is lined. The male portrait is covered with a white powdery substance at lower right quadrant. Both works are under a very yellowed varnish. Under UV light: very old and opaque varnish on both. The male portrait has some touches of inpainting on the hair, a horizontal line of inpainting at lower center. The female portrait has two campaigns of inpainting: the older one is well under the opaque varnish but visible on the right side of her face and on the hair, along the bridge of her nose and scattered on the forehead; a possible old repair to the right of her head; newer inpainting can be seen to the top of her head and scattered on her dress.
