An African American Painted Cherrywood Blanket Chest
Possibly Kentucky, 19th Century
retains the original top, never set with hinges.
Height 23 3/4 x width 37 x depth 17 1/4 inches.

Condition Report
In overall fine and stable condition. Appears to retain the original top, though it was never set with hinges and appears to have only been held in place with nails. Scuffs, marks, scratches and rubbing to the painted surface consistent with age and use, but more significant wear to the painted surface of the top. Age cracks visible in areas throughout. Areas of old chip losses to edges throughout.
