Lot Description
**U.S. Springfield Model 1922 M2
.22 LR. 24" barrel length. SN: 3181. Blued metal finish with nickel steel bolt. Walnut stock has a plain semi pistol grip and forearm, with hand grooves and single barrel band. Bolt action rifle with Lyman 48B adjustable peep rear sight and pinned blade front sight. Item features a removable box magazine, double sling swivels, and a checkered trapdoor buttplate. Although the butt is not drilled for a cleaning kit, it does contain a note under buttplate that reads Jack Schiela/635C Minneford/Ave. City Island/New York. Markings include US/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/CAL. .22 M2/3181 to receiver ring. Bolt handle is marked N.S./M2, and bolt is marked both M2 and D-28223-2. Barrel is marked SA/{flaming bomb}/12-33.

Condition Report
Good to very good. Bore is bright. Finish has developed a faint brown-green patina, with some sprinkled pit marks and light scratches scattered overall. Wood stock is in good condition, with light scratches and mars.
