Manufactured 1931

.38 Special. 4" barrel length. SN: 569297. Blued metal finish with polished hammer flanks and mounting checkered walnut Colt medallion grips. Double action hand ejector six-shot revolver featuring topstrap notch and semi-circular front blade sights. Markings include the {Rampant Colt} logo to the sideplate, and the left barrel mark reading COLT OFFICIAL/POLICE .38. Top of barrel shows the two-line address and patent mark reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A./PAT'D AUG.5, 1884. JULY 4. 1905. OCT. 5, 1926.

Condition Report

Good. Bore is Bright with strong rifling throughout. Overall metal finish shows a pattern of brown patinated flecking scattered overall, with brown patina dominating on the backstrap, forward edge of the frame, and on top of the barrel. Item shows further light edgewear on the cylinder and muzzle wear. Grip medallions are tarnished with some loss of fine details. The checkering shows overall handling wear with flat spots at the lower edges of the butt, oxidation on the screw head, and some stains. Action shows good timing with a tight lockup.
