** US Model 1903 Colt New Army & Navy Revolver with Holster
.38 Colt. 6" barrel. SN: 206512 (Mfg. ca1903). Blued finish, two-piece smooth walnut grips. Double action revolver with six-chambered swing out cylinder, manually operated star extractor system, frame notch rear sight and blade front sight. Lanyard ring in butt. Butt marked U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1903 and with serial number. Top of barrel with two-line address and patent markings, left of barrel marked COLT D.A. 38. Upper left rear of frame with the block J.E.H. inspection mark of Ordnance Captain Jay E. Hoffer and rear left of frame above the grip is stamped with the sub-inspection mark R.A.C. of Rinaldo A. Carr. Lower left rear of frame is dated 1903. Cylinder crane, frame and cylinder release are all marked with the same assembly number 6512. Cylinder is R.A.C. inspected on the rear face and assembly numbered 790 under the extractor star, which is also assembly numbered 790 on its interior face. The revolver is accompanied by a Rock Island Arsenal marked brown US Model 1892 holster that is dated 1905 and has a weak ink indentification on the inner flap that is not fully legible.
Condition Report
Very good. Bore is fine, mostly bright with some frosting and crisp rifling. Metal with much of the blued finish showing moderate wear, thinning and loss. Markings remain clear and legible. Mechanically functional action. Grips with light wear and scattered handling bumps and dings. Holster good to very good with scattered scuffs and marks.
