Lot Description
** Remington Model 10 Trap with Carved Stock
12 Gauge. 30" barrel length. SN: 243. Blued metal finish with polished bolt mounting a walnut round knob semi-pistol grip stock with checkered wrist and forend. The top of the barrel is marked REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., REMINGTON ILION WORKS. ILION. N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A./U.S. PATENT NUMBERS 1,579,177-1,660,216 OTHER PATENTS PENDING. The action bar is marked MARK TRAP GRADE, and the barrel shows two {Anchor} marks and a 3U code. The left receiver shows the faint remnants of the Remington/MODEL 10 mark. Item has been refinished, and the stock has been repaired at the wrist, and folk art carved. The right butt features a Stag in Forest scene relief carved into it. The forend features vine engraving surrounding the checkering. Butt has been fitted with an aftermarket recoil pad and spacer. Full Choke. 2.75" chamber length.

Condition Report
Good as Refinished. Bore is Bright. Barrel finish is thinning overall with brown patina forming a mottled pattern through losses scattered overall. The magazine tube shows cycling wear, with mottled gray patina transitioning to brown where the thinning bluing remains. The left rear barrel shows light pitting, with some further pitting along the action bar. The receiver has weak edges indicative of aggressive cleaning and refinish, with the strong blued refinish showing scattered flecking. The wood furniture has handling wear and mars overall. The upper right edge of the forend has chipped off, and the tang is surrounded by wood fill. Tang shows cracks that have been filled in during a previous repair. All screw heads show some deformations from removal, and the receiver and tang screws lack securing screws.
