[ENSLAVEMENT & ABOLITION - CIVIL WAR]. Partly printed appraisal for lease of enslaved man issued by the Confederate States. Charleston, SC, 1 December 1864. 

7 1/2 x 5 1/4 in. (sight) partly printed document, matted and framed, 13 1/2 x 12 in. (light folds, unexamined outside frame).

Partly printed document, which states, "We have examined the following named Slaves, furnished the Confederate States for service on the Coast, and estimate their value as follows..." With name and value of the enslaved person, ("Berry, $4000") owner's name ("Danl Fowler"), and district ("Greenville") accomplished in manuscript.
