Keller Turner (1842-1914) and her husband Lieutenant George Pendleton Turner (1837-1905), regarding travel by horse, horse cart, steam car, and train, recent travel with George and “Teacher” Anne Sullivan, as well as fruit such as apples, oranges, and watermelons. Simple sentences referring to herself in the third person and the lack of punctuation likely indicate that this is one of Keller’s early letters, ca 1887. Many letters dating from this period have a similar opening: “Helen will write letter to cousin George.”
