Lot Description
[MOSBY, JOHN S. (1833-1916)]. A group of 4 reunion ribbons for "Mosby's Men," with reunion notice.
4 ribbons, each 6 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. or smaller, including for the: 12th annual reunion, Fredericksburg, VA, 31 August 1905. -- 16th reunion, Herndon, VA, 10 September 1910. -- 18th annual reunion, Groveton, Prince William Co., VA, 29 August 1912. -- 20th annual reunion, Charlottesville, VA, 24-25 September 1914 (includes a celluloid pinback attached at upper edge featuring the three versions of the Confederate flag). -- Together, 4 reunion ribbons.

5 1/4 x 8 in. printed notice for a "Re-Union of 'Mosby's Command,'" held at Alexandria, VA on 16 January 1895. "Col. Mosby and other Officers will be present, and we have assurances of a large attendance of our old companions in arms. I ask that you will indicate to me promptly your determination to attend." Undersigned in type "Jno. H. Alexander."

The reunion announced in the notice, taking place in 1895, would be the one and only reunion of his Rangers that Mosby attended himself.
