[NATIVE AMERICAN]. RANDALL, A. F. (1854-1916), photographer. Boudoir card featuring Apache subjects lining up for "Ration day at San Carlos." Los Angeles, CA, ca 1886-1890.
7 3/8 x 4 3/8 in. albumen photograph on cardstock mount (some surface soiling and mostly minor imperfections including diagonal scratch to lower portion; wear to mount edges and corners). A. F. Randall's pictorial imprint on verso, along with ink inscription reading, "Ration day at San Carlos." Image shows Apaches subjects of various bands waiting in line for rations at San Carlos, Arizona Territory, ca 1883-1886.
Provenance: This photograph previously descended in the family of William Wallace Chapel (1839-1922), who operated a trading post and served as postmaster of San Carlos, ca 1886-1890.
