A group of 60+ photographs of military subjects, including CDVs, cabinet cards, and stereoviews, ranging in size from 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 in. to 6 x 8 in., majority being cabinet cards (approx. 5 1/2 x 4 in.). The collection is comprised of portraits of individuals and groups, both formal and informal, including some images of soldiers taken in the field, ca mid-19th century through early 20th century.
Several photographs are credited on the cardstock mount or in the negative. Elizabeth, NJ: Asnon Studio, 1903. verso inscription, "Le 30 Mai - 1903, Decoration Day...George Hector (?) Sen., Veteran Zouave of Elizabeth, N.J." -- Cabinet card of "Capt. J.P. Walker, 3rd Cavalry, Retired." Washington, DC: L.C. Dillon (top edge of print and mount trimmed, edge and corner wear to mount). -- Cabinet card of armed subject, with verso identification, "Charles Stevenson dad, Albert Stevenson, Knox, Ind." Possibly Albert Stevenson of the 29th Indiana Infantry. Knox, IN: Barnums Studio (toning and fading to print, edge wear to mount). -- CDV of a young father in military uniform, posed with his 17-month-old child. Together, approx. 60 photographs of military subjects. Condition varies from poor to very good, with toning, spotting, edge and corner wear throughout.
