Group of 19 documents, spanning September 1863 - November 1865 (bulk 1864), many related to equipping soldiers from the 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry but with three documents associated with the 7th Regiment Ohio Volunteers. Majority of documents associated with Lieut. Andrew Wilson who is either identified in correspondence, signs as commanding officer, or is listed as recipient of stores. Many documents submitted from Atlanta in the later part of 1864 following the Ohio 29th's participation in the Atlanta Campaign. Four documents from 1865 postdate Wilson's enlistment, three of which deal with Wilson and claims made against him for the disposition of government property while detached with the Ohio 7th Regiment. Amongst other documents and letters, archive includes forms for "Invoice of Ordnance and Ordnance Stores," "Abstract of Materials, &c., expended or consumed," "List of Clothing, Camp and Garrison Equipage," and a manuscript "Inventory and Inspection Report of unserviceable Camp & Garrison Equipage for which 1st Lieut Andrew Wilson 29th Regt Ohio Vols is responsible...."

The 29th Ohio Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp Giddings, Jefferson, Ohio, under Colonel Louis P. Buckley. The regiment moved to Camp Chase, Ohio, prior to being dispatched to the field with the Army of the Potomac in January 1862. The regiment was extensively engaged during the war, most notably at Gettysburg and in the Atlanta Campaign. HDS indicates that 36-year-old Andrew Wilson enlisted on 8/19/1861 as a 2nd Lieutenant and was commissioned into Co. B, Ohio 29th Infantry. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on 5/12/1862, and was listed as a POW (date and place not stated) who was exchanged on 9/21/1862 at Aiken's Landing, Virginia. Wilson was detached via Special Order to duty with the 7th Regiment Ohio Volunteers in December 1863, but was reassigned to his regiment in March 1864. He mustered out of service on 10/31/1864.
