[NATIVE AMERICANS]. 7 stereoviews, featuring view of "Noted Sioux Chiefs" incl. Rain in the Face.
Includes:
Noted Sioux Indian Chiefs, as titled in negative, with imprint on right and left margins of recto, "S&L XLNT Series / American Views" (light soiling; some edge and corner wear to mount). A period copy of an image originally taken by F.J. Haynes' Fargo, DT. The subjects include from left to right: Gall, Crawler, Crow King, Running Antelope, and Rain-In-The-Face, taken at Fort Yates on the Standing Rock Reservation, Dakota, in the summer of 1881. Note that Rain-In-The-Face is holding a cabinet card, perhaps his own likeness, previously taken by Haynes.
