** Springfield 1903 Rifle with USMC Marked Sedgley Barrel
World War II

.30-06. 24" barrel. SN: 969592 (Mfg. ca1918). Parkerized finish, smooth walnut straight-gripped S-stock with dual reinforcement bolts and grasping grooves. Bolt action internal magazine fed military rifle. Receiver marked in four lines: U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903 followed by the serial number. Receiver with "Hatcher hole" drilled in the left side at the stock line. Barrel marked USMC/9-43/{Circled-S} . At least three rebuilt cartouches are present on the counterpane, including a Springfield C-SAA struck over what appears to be the same cartouche and a Benicia Arsenal BA-JS.  Both a "Circle-P" and a "Boxed-P" are stamped behind the triggerguard. A B is stamped in the safety cut out. Features include a ladder rear sight graduated to 27, a hooded front sight blade, sling and stacking swivels, and a checkered buttplate with no cleaning kit in the butt trap. An OD Green woven sling is included.
