.30-06. 24" star gauged barrel. SN: 1270928 (Mfg. ca1921). Parkerized finish, smooth walnut pistol-gripped C-stock with dual reinforcement bolts and no grasping grooves. Bolt action internal magazine fed military rifle. Receiver marked in four lines: U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903 followed by the serial number. Barrel marked S.A./{Flaming Bomb}/3-38. No cartouche or "Circle-P" is present on the stock. An individually stamped S is present in the safety cut out. Features include a standard military ladder rear sight graduated to 27, a hooded front sight blade, sling and stacking swivels, and a checkered buttplate with a nickel cleaning kit in the butt trap. A PJ O'Hare marked rear sight cover is included as is a leather Pattern 1907 sling.
